Wonderful Women of ASU
Maggie Blair, (pictured at left) Administrative Assistant to the Dean, and
Dr. Mary McGlamery, were winners of the Wonderful Women of ASU
Star Award this spring. Held in conjunction with the celebration of
Women’s History Month, the third annual Wonderful Women of ASU
Awards Ceremony recognizes women in the Angelo State University
community who routinely go out of their way to support and uplift oth-
ers through their dedicated service. This award is sponsored by the ASU
Multicultural Center. Nominees from the College of Education included

Spring 2013 Scholarships
This spring, the members of the Scholarship Committee completed the tasks necessary
to recommend awards for Spring, 2013. The members of the scholarship committee are
Dr. Judith Hakes, Dr. Ann Bullion-Mears, Dr. Donna Gee, Mrs. Tia Agan, Dr. Blake High-
tower, and Dr. Sandra Maxedon. Nine funded scholarships resulted in 13 awards. In all
instances the recipients exceeded the scholarship requirements, in addition to meeting
the College of Education dispositions to teach. The threshold for grade point average
was above 3.5 for all recipients. The scholarships and their recipients are:
