Anthony was an ASU

Student Teacher in the

Spring of 2014. His

c

ertification level is

ECH-6 with Special

Education and

completed his student

teaching in Fort

Stockton in Special

Education and

Kindergarten. He

!

When asked about his career choice, Anthony

said, “inspiring students to discover their full

potential helped me decide that education was

my true calling. I teach my students to search

for authentic examples. Letting my students

know my expectations and that I want the best

life for each of them has helped my students

take responsibility for their learning. I want my

students to realize that anything is possible as

long as they are committed and

are willing to put forth their

best effort.”

When asked about Anthony’s

teaching style, his University

Supervisor stated that “the art

of teaching is knowing what is

important for the learner.

Anthony scaffolds his lessons

by starting out as a group and

then moves the students to

create an independent written

product. He layers the learning

and helps them create links to

learning and how it all comes together. He

plans lessons that reflect the academic and

social needs of his students.”

!

His Mentor Teacher echoes this praise by

stating that “Anthony has shown that he is and

will be completely invested in the learning of

each child he works with. He is a great listener

and learns quickly. He is passionate about his

craft.”

!

Congratulations, Anthony, on this well-

deserved award!
