Brook is a graduate student majoring in Student Development and Leadership in Higher
Education who will be graduating this December. Brook decided on majoring in student
development program because it was a great combination of all the areas of higher education
that suited her career paths and career goals. She chose ASU because of the flexibility to be
able to work full time and complete courses online. Brook states, “the online program in
student development allows me to be fully involved personally and professionally. It also
allows me to be a mom and wife as well as a student and career professional. I have never
felt like I was alone in cyberspace while taking more courses. The professors in the depart-
ment go out of their way to communicate with us regularly.” Brook lives in Carlsbad, Texas
with her husband and two children—Rett, age 6 years old, and Quinn, age 2 years old. They
breed sheep and help as many 4-H and FFA students with their livestock projects as they
can. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Delta Phi Honor Societies. Brook also
volunteers with the Junior League of San Angelo. She currently works in the Office of Development at Angelo
State University.
