Kappa Delta Pi, Mu Gamma Chapter, initiated
thirty-nine new members on October 17
th
at
their fall banquet. Dr. Javier Flores, VP for
Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at
ASU was the guest speaker. He spoke about
the importance of education and the difference
it had made in his own life. Dr. Miazga was
presented with an Honor an Educator award for his support of the chapter and his dedication to the ideals of
Kappa Delta Pi. The Mu Gamma Chapter is the proud recipient of an ACE award for the biennium 2011-2013.
The Achieving Chapter Excellence (ACE) was given to only 22
chapters out of the more than 670 KDP chapters nation wide so this
is a great achievement for our chapter. The award was presented at
the KDP National Convocation in Dallas on October 24-26. Six
members and the counselor attended the convocation and received
the award on behalf of the chapter. Chapter members want to
thank Dr. Eisenwine, the previous Mu Gamma counselor, for all of
her work in moving the chapter forward towards the goal of
winning an ACE. This school year, Mu Gamma Chapter has
joined forces with two other educational organizations, TSTA and
CEC, to share speakers for our meetings.
